  1. That is no problem, as long as you don't take dairy goods and meat since this will sometimes be a danger to public health in the country of destination. I would recommend you to bring some menthos or gum though for take-off and landing, this will prevent the "popping" feeling in the ears. See the link below for some more information about what to take in your carry-on.

  2. Sure you can.

Do you really want to eat crisps though? They will make you very thirsty. Since liquids are not allowed, you will have to keep asking the cabin crew for water. If you've flown before, you'll know that never provide enough water. If you're thirsty from eating salty crisps, that's ten times worse. I would suggest moist snacks, like fruits.

  3. You can bring food. But no drinks like water, soda, and so on/anything that is a fluid or liquid like nail polish. Cause of the plan of attack that said that all they had to do is mix power or water with another drink to make a bomb. So that is why they banned the drinks for the safety. Although you are can buy drinks after they take your bag and you go to your gate threw the security check. They have a few shops there and that is where you are aloud to get the drinks where you sit down at the gate waiting for the air plane. But yes you are aloud to take food like chips and sweets with you. Also gum is good when you take off and land cause it helps/reduces the popping in your ear from the pressure. Just make sure you have the food in a bag or something.

Hope it helps and good luck!

Also have fun in Manchester (UK) I heard it is very nice in (UK)!!! Enjoy =]
