Can you take lessons from a sylvan tutor instead of public school

You can take lessons from a sylvan tutor but you also have to attend public school. Also if you still want to attend sylvan it is $88 monthly. I have a friend who is attending sylvan now and also here is the website where you can look up more information on the subject.

Home school is what you want it to be,   You set the circumlum , you make the rules, You are the principal,  the guidance counselor the teacher,   You are the school.   It does not have to mean sitting in a classroom,  or going with an umbrella school, it can be what you make it,  now of course You may want to use some guidelines on what you need to teach, and what the child can comprehend at certain ages,  

But it does not have to be so formalized, and suddenly saying  OH its class time,   there is so much more variety, and so many things you can do for * school*  walk the AT  and have them learn the local plants along the way, and learn the georgraphy and the histroy,  without carrying much extra,    give them scuba lessons and learn the marine science at the same time,  

so much more than sitting in a class or at a computer.

If you're homeschooled, yes.  If not, no.

Sylvan is a supplement, not an educational choice on its own.  It is tutoring in a specific subject or group of subjects - not a complete education.  It works with any type of schooling (home, private, or public) but is not a stand alone method of schooling.
