I have heard that you cannot take pics inside because flashes from camera can damage the art work, like the ceilings of the Sistine Chapel.

  1. yess this is true. i went a couple years ago. you are alloweed to take pictures inside st. peters basilicca but not inside the museam cause the flashes could ruin the pictures.

  2. Correct!!!!!!

In many museums you can not take any pictures.

  3. Yes you can.  Just don't use flash.  You are not supposed to take pictures in the Sistine Chapel but I managed to snap off a dozen or so.  Just be discreet and don't use flash.

You need a steady hand when you are not using flash, as the exposure time will be a second or so longer.

Here are some pictures I took at the Vatican, in Rome and Europe.

  4. I was just there and you can take pictures inside the Vatican with flash. However no pictures are allowed the Sistine Chapel (you are not even allowed to talk in there).  --We did sneak one without flash.  The Vatican is amazing.  Get there early b/c the line is so long to get in.
