I would like to take the test, but in case I do poorly I don't want to send it to schools I'm interested in. Is it possible to do this? If I take the GRE test a second time and send those scores to schools do they get to see my first test scores as well?

  2. Yes.  When you sign up for the GRE there is an option to send it to schools for free.  Otherwise, it is only sent to you.  From there you can send a copy of your score at your own discretion.
