  1. anything that is too much or too little is not good

  2. not too much,as excess of everything is bad, only take the ammount as ur dr prescribed for u ,u can eat the veggie n fruits which has folic acid that should not harm but dont take extra tablet .....do as ur dr says

    GOOD LUCK

  3. I don't know the answer, but in general most things in supplement form (like in the vitamin pills) can be overdosed on. If you are getting it from foods then no, you really can't get too much because of the way it's all absorbed and processed by your body. In general in America at least, folic acid deficiency is pretty common because we don't eat enough fruits and vegetables, etc. During pregnancy I would just stick with whatever your doctor prescribes and don't worry about getting too much from the food sources because like I said our body takes it in differently.

  4. A friend of mine took folic acid prescribed by her doctor.  It was to much and made her very sick. She had to quit taking it.  Her baby still turned out fine.  So I say "yes".

  5. Probably - but don't - folic acid is taken to prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida, which occur during the first month of fetal life, so that is when the mother really needs it - it is not really necessary after that, so taking more than you should is a waste.

By the way, to be really effective, folic acid should be taken before pregnancy occurs and for the first few weeks.
