I have a really hard time sleeping so my doctor told me to take tylenol pm. I am really stressed and last night I layed in bed till 3 am and finally got up and took the tylenol. I want to take it again because it really helps me sleep, whats your opinoin on taking it? the doctor says its cool but it does worry me. I am 30 weeks along. One more question is it routine to have a sonogram at 32 weeks. My doct schedule me one and I was all excited forgot to ask why... I never had sonogram in 3rd trimester... Thanks in advance.

  1. my doc told me i could take tylenol PM or benadryl, i did it with my second, not everynight, but when needed and everything was fine, i have done it a few times this pregnancey as well

  2. yes it's fine.  Just don't take aspirin

  3. If your doctor has said it's fine, it should be fine.  Another thing my OB suggested was Benadryl.  It's the same ingredient as most low-dose sleep aids but without the pain reliever.

As for the sonogram, it varies between doctors.  My first OB only likes to do them at 12 and 20 weeks; my current one will do one at 10 and 20.  If it bothers you, call tomorrow morning and ask if there's any specific thing he's looking for.

  4. Yes you may have tylenol PM or benadryl. This is a common question. Just no motrin (i.e. Advil). Especially in the 1st and 3rd trimesters for chance it will cause clotting in the placenta.

As for your other question, yes it can be normal for a sonogram at that time it all just depends on your doctor.

  5. yes you can it has been proven safe most tylenol medications are safe.  also it is not routine to have an ultrasound at 32 weeks but some doctors order them to make sure that the baby is not breech.
