I want to become a high school teacher but I also want to get tattoos. I mean if i got like a sleeve would it really matter because I mean you would be wearing a button down anyway?

  1. make sure you can keep them covered.  i got a tattoo on my back, now i have to wear dresses everyday to make sure that my tattoo will never show.  keep in mind that if you get a sleeve, you will have to wear long sleeves to work everyday, no matter how hot it is, and no matter what the plan for the day is.

  2. Hey I'm seventeen and i go to high school.. (duh) ll but at least at my school lots of teachers have tattoos. Tattoos are not looked down upon. these teachers actually have really high reputations. one of them even has bird going all the way around and up her arm. I have a teacher with just a simple Butterfly on her ankle too... Its totally fine now n days... :) Oh and i don't go to some crazy ghetto school either if that's what you were thinking. its just a nice little town in Oregon.

  3. your right about that. you can have tatoos as long as it's covered up.

its not like they gonna say pull down ur pants to see if you  have it on your ***

  4. My district's rule is that you have to cover the tattoos. If no one can see it how would they know anyway?

  5. It completely depends on the school district you teach in.  I teach in a district that does not make us cover them up (I have 7) as long as they are "school appropriate".  In other words, no cuss words or extreme violence or anything like that.

  6. I have 2 butterflies and this will be my sixth year as a teacher .....................no problems so far

  7. It can hurt your chances if the interviewer sees them. Why do you want to put permanent marks on your body? That's so 90's. The dermatologists' offices are full of people who want to remove them.

  8. in august, i will be starting my 3rd year at NC State...i am pursuing a career as a math education teacher (focused for high school) and have been taking classes to prepare for teaching...i even had to do teaching assistant work at a local high school this past semester (in which i had to teach 2 lessons on my own)...

i have 6 tattoos right now...i love tattoos...the only extreme visible ones are the ones i have on each wrist..and i didn't even cover those when i taught my lessons....my education teachers don't really see an issue with them and their affect of your ability to teach

u might want to check the area u may want to teach at and see what the schools' policy is on teachers having tattoos

but i would not recommend getting a sleeve, because, like the other person just said, u may have to wear long sleeves a LOT (if not all) of the time

    hope this helps!

  9. If you are willing to go through life covering them up, it probably won't be a problem, but I would urge you to wait.  I know so many people who regret having gotten tattoos earlier in life.
