I left secondry school only having achieved 3 GCSEs (English, English Literature and Mathematics) I got Cs in the two english ones but got an E in maths. I only got to do three because of health issues and being taken out of school becasue of bullying, not becasue I wasn't capable of doing them.

Since then I have done a two year college course doing a secretarial course, as I would like to be a medical secretary and needed general secretarial skills first.

I don't want to go back to college as I will be working and I don't really have enough money to do a online course. If I self teach myself maths and other GCSE subjects can I then just sit the exams with a centre and just pay that fee or do you have to do a formal course first????

I would really appreciate your comments.

  1. Guest5108 Thats not true at all. I know many people who didn't get great grades in their GCSE's, but had children and couldn't afford college tuition or afford the time in which to do part time courses. They bought the exact same excercise books as those currently in Schools, they studied at home for 6 months, then did the examinations and got A and B marks. Theyre now doing A-level home study courses and feeling fantastic that theyre now able to school their children at home as well as their normal school work. I'm doing it now too because im studying Computer Aided Design, 3DS and Surveying etc, and my Maths skills have some what dwindled away over the years, so im studying at home, and i must say i have picked it up again very well, now i'm determined to sit a new GCSE examination this year and get the grades i feel with suit my new career, and possibly go further to A levels. Truthfully, i cannot wait. To the person who enquired this subject. Go for it.
