Is it possible to teach yourself how to twirl a baton? If so, what websites should I look at. I want to teach myself at home so that I can do it at my own pace and at home.

Get yourself a training DVD.  batontwirlingunlimited.com sells DVDs by Susan Orr, an award winning baton twirler and instructor.  She points out things you would never notice on your own by simply watching videos of other people twirling.  I've been twirling for over 30 years. It's important to learn baton from a professional, especially in the beginning.  Baton twirling is a far more complex sport than it looks to spectators.
