Im curious if a person looking looking at the wearer of fake eyeglasses can in fact tell they are fake. I want to wear them to class so teachers think Im smarter( As sad as that is, I think it will influence them).

  1. you cant tell

  2. They won't know.

  3. You can't always tell if eyeglasses are fake. People who wear glasses with weak prescriptions don't have the kind of obvious distortion associated with those who wear stronger prescriptions so they look like they could be wearing fake glasses.

  4. You CAN if you know what you are looking for.  Fake glasses have lenses that have no curvature on the front of the lens.  They are basically like plate glass windows.  When a lens has no curvature on the front surface, light reflects very differently.   Reflections will tend to look like flashes of light when the wearer moves the head.  Prescription glasses, in contrast, have a front surface that is curved.  Therefore, when the wearer moves the head, reflections of lights will move much more slowly across the lens.  You may notice this at times watching a movie.  If the prop and costume department is using cheap fake glasses then the flashing reflection will be noticeable.  If they are using actual prescription lenses that are crafted to a zero prescription then the lenses will reflect light normally for a prescription pair.
