Can you tell if he is g*y?

Ok So i had a crush on this guy and for awhile then we splited because of summer vacation then now since we have class together he is giving me signs that he might be g*y what do you think

when were both talking him (and i) look at each other in the eyes directly and never stops till were done talking

I mean not that many straight guys give eye contact to you when you are talking to them (if you are a guy.)

he also smiles at me when I am talking to him

he randomly told me that he was going commando

he complements me on my hair at random times he'll say stuff like "I like your hair when you died it with red highlights"

What do you think i think he is,

though i don't give any signs back to him except probly. one time he caught me checking him out, oh and the eye contact thing

what should i do to gradually tell him i am interested in him

Any examples of signs that can show him that i am interested in him?

You're leaving out an important piece of information.  Are you g*y?  You don't say if you are a man or a woman.   What do you mean when you say "we splited"?  Were you together?  What kind of a relationship did you have before summer vacation?  

Ask him what his views are on g*y marriage.  I've found this a great question for getting to know a lot about a person in a very short time.  Start out by asking him who he'd vote for for President.
