  1. If the person does have pink eye, it should only take a few weeks to treat it, maybe less than that. With drops or ointment prescribed by a doctor, an opthamologist. They should just make sure to wash their hands a lot, avoid touching or scratching their eyes, and, if a girl, should avoid wearing make-up. Oh, and they shouldn't wear contacts. Obviously, someone will tell them all of this when they get treated. When I had it, I just remember complaining of an itch and rubbing one of my eyes a lot...before I knew it, I had pink eye in both. For a while, my mom just ignored the symptoms which were obvious--pinkeye. Though, they don't always start out obvious...within a week, my eyes were red and swollen, and later started emitting pus and forming a crust. I was given ointment, which I applied with a q-tip. It was great because within a few days the crust around my eyes begin to soften. This person should determine immediately whether they have pink eye or not because it does spread, and others deserve fair warning.

  2. Some people with allergies can get red on the white part of the eye, this is usually in both.  With "pink eye" or conjunctivitis, it usually starts in one eye and the person may or may not have a yellowish drainage.  If not cared for right away, it can spread to both eyes and they usually wake up in the morning with crustiness around the eye and in some more severe cases have trouble opening their eyes.

  3. If you wake up with a sore eyeball, crusties on your eyelids (either sealing your eyes or nearly sealing them), and your eyes are constantly watering and the whites are turning pink,

    you probably have pink eye.

  4. yep ! there eye's red,a little swelling might be there.Lot's of junk coming out,and the biggest give away, you wake up unable to open it.if you have it you can spread it easy.I'd cover it up with a clean cloth and get to the doctor.if they can't see ya,call an eye doctor.odd are good if you don't treat it,I've been told you can go blind.
