well if they make the pic smaller, u wont get a close up of their face so it might not show their flaws.

No there is no way to tell since the editing hides what most people might considered "ugly". Some people might still considered the photo ugly or pretty depending on there attractions .

Well normally, people edit pictures because they think they are ugly.

Now the smart thing to do is NOT edit them becuase so many teenagers are self concious, when they dont need to be.

spending money on editing things is a waste of time and money.

so normally yeah you can tell...

the people that edit pictures have problems with what they look like for real.

and the people who dont, are pretty because they dont care.

No, because if it is edited you don't know just what parts have been edited or how much they have been edited.  If someone wants an honest answer then they should put up an honest picture.  Some who edit their pictures even make them look worse by accident, but want to post it anyway just so people will think they are cool because they can edit pictures.  If they want to post edited pictures, then they should learn how and practice a lot before posting any. Edited pictures have their place, but it is not in a category to see how someone truly looks.

It depends on how much the person edits. You could make somebody that's hideous look gorgeous, but if they only edit a tiny bit like the lighting or something than you can tell if they're ugly or pretty.

no u actually cant , mostly ppl hide acne,marks and fatness by editing it.natural beauty is in a regular picture

I've heard that you need to be in the business to be able to tell if they are doctored, but if you are, it is pretty easy. I am speaking of photos which have been edited well.

As for being able to tell if they are pretty or ugly, looks are subjective. I think you could only tell if certain features which might determine that more often, like the shape of the nose, or the size of the eyes, or the hairline, have been edited. You would have to decide if those features matter that much to you.

I am guessing that you may be trying to judge someone's looks from online. If so, the photo might not even be of that particular person. Had you thought of that? If you are thinking of doctoring your own photo, you might try sending it to several people uneducated/educated in photo-editing and seeing what they think.

Being the philosopher I am, I have to comment that some of the "prettiest " people I have known are some of the ugliest inside.

Yours was an interesting question to consider.
