Can you tell if someones clever just by looks?

i've heard in many countrys people can spot if someone is clever just my their features and so on

It is something that is intuitive; some people have in them to recognize such qualities of others. You can too, if you can "think" like the person who others say that he is intelligent.

Usually, if a person has bubbly personality and is able to talk intelligently and audibly (no b.s. of course..!) then you can tell that person is intelligent. Usually their eyes sparkle, an air of confidence about them because they are sure of what they know. They are not looking for approval. Such a person can be attractive....!!

Yes, many people in such a person's company secretly fall in love......and age is no barrier in that instance - or, their color, or their creed, or their religious beliefs or crooked teeth (ha , ha)

That's when you overlook any shortcomings that person has and you are mesmerized by their self- confidence (NOT an air of superiority - it is a turn off)

You use the word 'clever'. By that, the connotation is the person is conniving, scheming. This is not what you meant, I presume.
