Question:

Can you tell me about Elite Modeling Management Chicago?

My son, 24, is interested in modeling. Now I have found Elite Modeling Management Chicago? The info about them looks good but are they legit/good? And what would the cost be?

My son is in school (so he is financially not well off) and his time in Chicago is limited. So would it even be possible for him to model?

He is good looking, not just from a mother's perspective, tall, slim, and sort of "dreamy" looking as girls have told me.

Serious and knowledgeable answers are appreciated.

Thank you!

  1. Yes they are legit and a top agency but as dreamy as he may be, your son must fit the physical requirements as well as have a specific bone structure that the agency's are looking for in male models.  You can have him go to one of their open calls or send in some photos and see if he gets a call for an interview.  The open calls are every day at 3:30pm.  Men need to be ages 13-25  & between 5' 11" - 6' 2" .  He needs to wear a form fitting outfit, probably snug jeans and a fitted t-shirt.  The office is at 58 W. Huron in Chicago.

There is NEVER an upfront cost at a legit agency.  They will take approx. 20% of his pay should he book any work.  He may eventually need to build a portfolio and that may require him to get some professional photos done in the begining until he gets some tear sheets, etc. from work that he has done.

No harm in going.  The worst that could happen is that you spend a day in the city and they don't have any need for his type right now.  As for how long he will be here, he would need to relocate if they take him.  He should not waste their time if he's only there for a week or two.

btw, you never call an agency to set up an appointment unless you are already a client or you were asked to do so.

    good luck,

    Marianne
