Can you tell me all about the Mayans?

Question

I know a lot about them but I want to know what a lot of the expert arcaeologists no about the Mayans. I know not to much about the cave which was very important. Why did the little kids get killed? I think it was a seven year old who was found in a cave. Why did they give blood?

So all I want to know is about the cave and other important things?

My grandfather was Mayan. So here is what I feel is true. All the tales of sacrifice only reveal that while there were some very spiritually (& mathematically ) advanced Mayans there were also , of course, some very simple ones just as in every culture. Being from the west coast & having driven thru the south & midwest ... well u get the idea, The notion that all Mayans would be as advanced as the elders or medicine men or whatever u wanna call them is silly. Some were religious nuts just as we have in America today.

Also, modern man has still not fully understood what the Mayans knew. We are still behind them today in understanding. Very few people know about all the pyramids in Mexico & Central America. Have you looked into the Egyptian culture at all & the possible migration from that land ?

Have you read Jose Arguelles ? Did you know they disappeared without a trace ? No Explanation ?

Digging for the Truth on the History Channel did a great episode on the Mayan Cave of the Underworld.  You may also be referring to "cenotes" where sacrifices also occurred and the show Deep Sea Detectives did an episode on those called Secret Underwater Caves.  These are shows very much worth checking out on DVD.

there are some great things on youtube about mayans... you can also learn alot from wikipedia, ironically enough most of the information is farily relaible... unless you are using it on a resarch paper
