he puts in mariano rivera in with 0-0 score... knowing how mo been struggling in non-save situation lately. he couldve kept marte in or even have someone else pitch like edwar, bruney, robertson, etc.

i think the problem is that he gives people too many chances. what you think?

  1. SIMPLE THE YANKEES LOST BECAUSE THEY DID NOT SCORE ANY RUNS AND SIDNEY PITCHED AMAZING

EDIT- I'm back i blew off some steam, the Angels Santana was amazing also and we all know MO in non save situations is not good, but Girardi is the Manager and he makes the decision, simple MOVE on because we will loose our mind thinking what could of happened , forget the game and hope better 2morrow

  2. yea sure he's been struggling but you got to throw out your best pitcher in a important game situation. If he would of have Robertson or Ramirez  or veras out there people would be complaining that he didn't pitch rivera.

  3. YOU ALWAYS PUT YOUR CLOSER IN DURING A TIE GAME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 9th!!!!! how old are you? six?

  4. Tell me who would you want pitching the 9th in a tight ballgame? Sure, the best don't always have their A game every time they're out there. And it was a dribbler to the middle. I would've put the best stopper in the game to prevent the opponent from scoring, and score in the last inning. If that fails, at least it's tied and you go extras.

Why bother bringing anyone other than Rivera from the bullpen to hold a lead, when you know you have your best reliever of all time on the bench? If it was someone else, trust me Yankee fans would be on him and Giradi for not bringing Rivera.

  5. Excellent.

  6. It's not a bad move. Mo's been lights out for most of the season and it's hard to blame Girardi (note the spelling) for putting in his closer in an effort to give his team a chance to win. He can't always say "well, Mo's not good when there's not a save on the line, so I'll just throw Veras or Robertson out there." Things just happen. It was bad luck for the Yankees tonight. That's how baseball works.

Let's just hope Ponson has another one of these performances in his next outing.

  7. I'm sure Giradi is dumb, but Joe Girardi is not dumb for sure.

I know Mo has been struggling lately, but look at the team and look at the score. Who would you rather put in? Do you really trust the bullpen that much?

It comes down to the fact that the offense didn't score.

    This game sucked.

  8. giradi is sooo stupid.......

he quit his gig on tv to go to an aging yankee team

    hahahahha

  9. wdx is absolutely correct.

Tell me, how dumb is the Yankees offense? How dumb is Jason Giambi, who hasn't managed to hit a fly recently? How dumb is our hitting with RISP? There are a lot more people to blame and it sure as h**l is not Joe Girardi for putting in a future hall of famer to try and keep a game right where it is.

Blame the overhyped, aging offense, not the manager who has managed to keep one of the best bullpen's in baseball fresh and active.

  10. He is a F*ggot

  11. I hate him Joe Torre where are you!

  12. You can't save your closer at home in a tie game in the ninth. He'll never get a save situation at that point, because the game has to be tied no matter how long it goes. And you really think Rivera considers save/non-save situation? He just pitches.

Girardi wanted Rivera to keep the Angels off the scoreboard in the top of the ninth (and probably tenth) in the hopes that his team could score in the bottom of the ninth. Rivera was his best chance to do that. That's textbook managing. You should have no problem with it.
