Can you tell me how many cigarettes you are allowed to bring home from Cyprus?

You can bring back an unlimited amount as long as they are for your personal use. It is down to Customs and Excise to prove they are not for your personal use. You don't have to prove that they are.

I went to Spain 3 years ago and brought back 9500 cigarettes. I got caught by Customs. I told them they were for my personal use and that they would last me a year. They put me onto their system and told me that if I get caught within a year with this amount, I would be arrested.

You can take back 200 without being asked any questions.

200 per passenger so if you going with a partner then you are allowed to bring back 200 and they can bring back 200.

Only if old enough to purchase cigarettes though!

As long as the cigarettes are bought in resort (from the local shop) you can bring as many as you want (in your suitcase) but yoou MUST be able to prove they are for personal use. Normally up to 2,000 will be ok - cigarettes bought at the airport is still 200
