because it seems that no one knows it, while it's an interesting historic site. I advise you to visit it if you go to France. People only visit Paris or La Côte d'Azur, don't go there it's too crowdy.

  1. Ive never heard of it but whenever i take my overseas adventure i will try to remember to look it up.

  2. yes, i have heard of it.

it is a city in east central France and the second largest French city after Paris.

  3. Salut!  Yes, I briefly visited during my February break when I was studying in France.  I remember strolling through the area between the Saone and the Rhone, seeing the Roman theater, and climbing the hill (name?) to see the basilica.  As a "starving student" then, I didn't really eat any of the fine cuisine your city is known for. I loved the look of Lyon and want to return sometime.

  4. Is that, like, that place you drive through when you go to the south of France? Something about a tunnel... I think I remember the name on a motorway panel...

Teasing. That's a great city, lived there a few years on my way up north and still go there from time to time to enjoy life. A nice lunch in a bouchon, ending with a cervelle de Canut, with a little wine from the area, then a stroll in the Parc de la Tete d'Or or in la Fourviere's narrow and twisting streets, get lost in the traboules and to recover sip a nice rosé while looking at the sun setting over the two rivers...

    Plenty of good memories.

  5. Yes, heard of it.

Come to france, no, I can't travel!

  6. Of course I've heard of Lyon.  And, by the way, the Lyon Chamber of Commerce thanks you.  Nice plug.

  7. i've heard of it, wasn't there a massacre there in ww2?

  8. Yes I've heard of it. I am going to France for vacation and found out about during my research. However, I would like something more Southern and closer to the coast.

  9. A great place. Have friends there and visited Lyon several times. You forgot to mention that it's also famous for it's food and Monsieur Bocuse. Bisous...

  10. are you french? if so: oui, je sais où c'est Lyon!! (j'habitais à côté d'Annecy avant)

to rockin_robin7991: did you not read the question properly? it's his home-town, he's not asking where it is, just if anyone's ever heard of it!

  11. Yes, i've heard of Lyon. It's actually a large city in France and is called the little Paris. It's interesting that you've never heard of it (if you've done any research on France), it's a pretty big city. I went there actually last month and it is beautiful.

  12. Bien sûr, je n'habite pas très loin de Lyon !

    Salut !

  13. I've heard of it. I've never been there, though. If it makes you feel better, I've never heard of La Cote d'Azur.

  14. Yes. I have heard of Lyon.  I am American.  I studied French for seven years in public school.  We had to learn about the history and geography of France.  Your town had something to do with the Religious Wars, if I remember correctly.

  15. Yes, I've heard about your beautiful city, the city of two rivers, and I stayed in Lyon 4 days during a trip from the south to the north of France.

  16. But of course I have heard of Lyons en France!  There are many things to do there:

Lyon has some special races to watch.

The night life is so much better and less crowded than Paris or Monte Carlo.

The cooking is exquisite and many of the best cooking schools are in that area.

There are many historical sites there worth visiting and some the architecture is not to be missed!

Source:  Went to Lyons on a school trip, couldn't stay long enough!  :(

  17. No never heard of it.
