If a UK citizen card is a good enough form of I.D to go to Ireland as I dont have a passport or driving license.

  1. According to this site the citizen card should be accepted by airlines, so presumably it would be accepted by ferries as well.  If in doubt it's best to phone the airline or ferry company you will be traveling with...

    We always take our passports.  They have never been checked when we get to Ireland but are given a cursory glance when we arrive back here (ferry)


  2. technically a UK citizen does not need a passport to Enter the Republic of Ireland or to travel to Northern Ireland

    however, if you are flying, most Airlines will only accept passports as an acceptable form of I.D

    if your going by boat or Ferry you should be fine

    if you are flying, call the Airline and find out what their policy is

  3. probably not i would check out some websites and see what exactly is needed??? i have never travelled without my passport. sorry!!!
