Can you tell me some of the most typical social norms and conventions out there?

I have Social Anxiety and I find it difficult to read the cues and clues in social situations, which leads to some rather akward moments..

I give you a couple of body language cues.

If a person crosses his arms, he is indicating that he is wants to resist or reject your current thought or action.

If a person mimics your movements, he is attempting to ingratiate himself to you.

Those are general reactions or actions which may not hold in every case.  But, in general, they are good indicators.
