  1. It's not my horse but my teachers horse, Thunder, loves to eat strawberries.

    BUT

he won't eat them if you say "Thunder, would you like a treat?"

He only turns his head if he hears "MR." Thunder!

  2. well the horse i ride at lessons does not like to be rinsed off on her right side after a lesson so my trainer has to do the right then i can do the left lol

  3. My mare bobs her head up and down at like everything, its super cute!

Our little colt loves to bite your butt when you pick up his feet, lol.

My sisters TB mare is polka dotted.

  4. Well my darling old pony, Silver, hated going away from the house, as many horses do. In my little jumping course, there were 2 jumps which faced away from the house and two which went towards it. Whenever you would go over the ones going away from the house, she would plod...plod...plod...then stumble through the jumps. Then you would turn her around and face the other two and she would take off like a rocket!! She would fly through the air, clearing them by miles!

Also, she was 12hh high and she lived in  paddock with 2 15-16hh standardbreds...and she was the boss of both of them!!

  5. hehe so my horse can close the arena gate and open it with his head while i am riding him, it is really funny!

he doesnt like bread, only carrots and apples

he would rather hang out with me than with his buddies

oh he is 20 and he acts like an 8 year old!

    I love my boy!

  6. My mare will eat apples and bread but not carrots. And a gelding that i work with, once he's tacked up and we are waiting in the stable in the morning for his rider to come he chews on my jumper or shirt. My unlce's two year old colt who likes to run along with us on our rides likes to run alondside my mare and chew on the reins.

  7. My horse was saved from slaughter and won me a blue ribbon at my 1st show.

I am training a four year old horse, that it him, to jump on my own

He is black and white. And he just turned BROWNNN\

He can have a bad attitude anywhere BUT at shows

    He hates PONIES.

He pushes every horse around but not mares

He wants to be a stallion but sorry, No can do

  8. My new horse, Hombre is funny.  If you say "Hi Hombre!" he looks at you and whinnies.  Hes cute, and then he urges that you scratch him.  His fave spots are at his rump, his forehead, and his chest.  He doesnt allow you to stop until he is COMPLETELY satisfied.  you have to finish the job... or else!! hes a stallion, yet a mini so he thinks hes threatening.  Yeah okay then weirdo!  haha!

  9. If you sit down while my pony is standing near you she'll sniff your knees, and then look at you with her ears up. It's so cute!!!

There's another horse at my barn who one day wouldn't drink AT ALL, so I was thinking what i could do, and we ended up putting a warm donut in his water bucket and he started drinking again! How odd....

  10. I have a quarter horse stallion who is a great horse.... And he acts like Mr. Bad As* but he will faint when he is turned out with a gelding larger then himself. He will fall to the ground and play dead until the other horse goes away. My vet has witnessed this and has ruled out physical problems, its just his fear of larger horses when he is turned out. Thank God he does not faint when he comes in contact with a larger mare in the breeding shed. Now that would be a problem, huh? :-)

  11. mmm...one horse of mine is like the class clown.  he likes to give wedgies to the farrier...something i'm working on stopping.  he likes to push people into the water trough when their bent over, not paying attention and scrubbing the thing.

my other horse isn't a clown at all.  he's mr. serious.  he was very upset when he saw my other horse ridden (he had a very bad first ride from what i hear).  he has been known to do anything to get to the rider, and pull them off my other horse.   (that's not all that interesting, tho)

  12. hey=]

Star my first horse had twins.

and me and soleil [ second horse] won 2 first nd one second at our first show together and it was my second show her first=] i still own both of them=]

  13. I have 4 horses.

They are all different breeds (chincoteague, Arab/QH, Hungarian WB, Welsh mix)

They are all different heights, but they all end in .3 (11.3, 12.3, 14.3, 15.3)

I trained all of them as 3 year olds.  Their ages are now 3, 14, 14, 27

The two ponies spent some time in a horse rescue - the 3 year old from ages 1-2, and the 27 year old, after I had owned him for 8 years then sold him, then those people sold him again.  The Arab/QH I bought at an auction as a weanling.  The Hungarian I was being paid to train but decided to buy at a big discount.

  14. I have a OTTB named Freedom. He thinks he's a dog, I swear. He sniffs everything, licks anything, and the kicker - he scratches his face with his HIND hoof! Oddest thing I've ever seen.

He'll also try to eat anything that you have in your hands that doesn't have to do with him, such as a water bottle, iPod, or cell phone.

  15. Well... to start it off. I have a cremello QH that absolutely DETESTS being white. Any possible chance to turn brown he'll take it. He is constantly rolling in mud, dirt. He also hates the rugs being on the gate. Apparently they look much better on the ground once been stomped on a few times. And being blue-eyed is pretty unique by itself.

My little retired welsh pony, farts as soon as he is caught and while he is being ridden... I think it's his way to calm his nerves. He is like Tucker from Racing Stripes, he's the cranky, small one that bosses the big ones around.

Our newest addition, our bay thoroughbred is the sweetest thing to people but hates other horses. He also cant eat his biscuit of hay... he has to go and steal some other horses coz its "better".

  16. My horse HATES to be groomed- he'll move around a ton when you groom him and he'll hit you with his tail on purpose.

But he love's having his face brushed. I just don't understand.

Whenever I give him a bath, he'll either drink out of the hose or just open his mouth and rinse it out for a few minutes. Always one or the other, never both.

He loves to pick up my water bottles and fly sprays in his mouth. He's so curious. :)

  17. My Highland pony is a clown.  He tests the electric fence to see if it's working...  He starts at a corner, and touches the fence, either side of a fence post, with his top lip.  If it zaps him, he moves on.  If it doesn't, he tries the next strand down.  Basically he's looking for a weak part of the fence - and if he finds it, he goes straight through into the next paddock, breaking the fence on the way.  My Shetland has a different approach - he lies on his belly and tries to wiggle right under the fence, so we have to make sure the fences are low enough to stop him limbo-ing under, and high enough to stop the Anglo Arab jumping over... Fun and games at my yard!
