There is no such thing as a modified PSP.The difference is only the firmware and it use be updated easily

free movies (downloaded/backup)

custom xmb themes (go to consolespot.net)

use other region's features (i.e. Go! Messenger is only for Europe but with custom firmware your North American psp can use it)
