Can you tell me what this bug is eating my Lilies?

Can someone tell me what this bug is and how i can get rid of them as they are eating my Lillies in the garden

I don't identify the item in the picture as a bug, though the Red lily beetle is a terrible new introduction that can devour lilies very quickly.  It is bright red, and its larvae and adults can eat them.
