Can you tell me what this plant is? It grows in the California desert.?

It has small yellow flowers. No thorns, the goats love to eat them. Here is a picture :

  1. Any chance you've got a closeup of the flowers?  Right now, I'm sort of thinking Brassica tournefortii, but I'm not comfortable with  making any sort of firm id based on your photos.

    EDITED TO ADD: It may be Brassica tournefortii -- it seems to be something in the mustard family (Brassicaceae), but it's a big family and I'm still not seeing what I need.

    B. tournefortii is a very bad weed, and found in drylands.  This is about the right time of year to see it in about that stage of development.
