Question:

Can you tell me when I ovulate?

My cycle is 28 days but I don't know how to calculate when I ovulate.

For example, I start spotting on a Wednesday and then Saturday it gets heavier. Do I start counting on the Wednesday or do I start on the heavy day. I'm confused. I do realize that I can't get an exact day of ovulation with this method but i'd still like to know. All answers are welcome!

  1. Your first day of your cycle is the 1st day of a heavy flow.

  2. babycenter.com can

  3. Unless you track your ovulation via BBT (or transvaginal ultrasounds), the only thing you can do is assume you ovulate 14 days from the start of your last period.

Based on our experience with an RE, the way the doctor's office trackes LMP, they said to use the day you first see any spotting UNLESS the spotting occurs after 5 o'clock.  If spotting occurs after 5, then use the following day as LMP.

But if you want to get any more accuracte information, you are going to have to either track BBT (and perhaps CM and CP) or see a fertility doctor (RE).
