Part Eleven

“Cara sweet, I am here”

A motherly voice to ease the dead to waking

a soft hand and a warm cloak

wrapped about cold shoulders

The feeling of the cloth familiar

as a childhood memory

“I will take you away…

We should leave

before the night of the shift

when goddess Selene reveals herself fully”

Cara was lifted, held, protected

Lullaby begins to play

songs of wield flowers and berries

voice so memorable

yet not her mothers…

Scents of Lilac, Wolfs Bain and Hemlock

Smells she knew from her Nannies home

-Yes it is the longest yet… do not fret, they will get short again… the memories are through and now we get back to the “real world”. My question is, do any of you get where this is going? If yes, then I have failed… if no…

Sweet, scented, even somewhat serene although there is some urgency about this poem. "The feeling of the cloth familiar   as a childhood memory"  is a wonderful line, bringing to mind a cherished blanket.  No, I don't pretend to know where this is going, but I am so anxious for it to continue!  I am very curious about the lines

"voice so memorable

yet not her mother's"

I will have to wait and see, I suppose....Thank you.

SPOILER ALERT!! Spelling is the "bane" of Siren's poetry, not the "bain." It is closely followed by an almost complete lack of the apostrophe used to indicate possession. We can, therefore, be reasonably sure that our heroine did not actually have more than one mother, although she may have had several nannies.

READERS' ADVISORY!! It is probable that no one did "wield" the flowers." Whether these flowers were "weird" or "wild" still remains unknown.
