Question:

Can you tell me where to go when holidaying as a single person, please?

I am a 44 year old single mother and am trying to decide whether to go on a holiday on my own or to take my 11 year old daughter with me. I am considering Queensland but am not sure whether travelling on my own may become a lonely time rather than a relaxing holiday. If anyone knows of some respectable singles hangouts I would be grateful.

  1. Going single makes getting in contact with others a lot easier. If you go to places like Townsville, Cairns etc. and stay in hostels, contacts are easily made. Take up a diving course, it gets you in a group of people alike. Or book a trip, like sailing snorkelling etc.

On the other hand it's maybe not a favourable thing to do, leaving your girl at home, while you could be having a lot of fun together. I'm sure she'll also enjoy being out there.

    Most important: have fun!

  2. You are going to be able to do both - family or single.

There are too many single places to list (depends on your style).  The attached websites might give you some ideas, I only included Brisbane - but other cities will possibly have one too.
