I started wearing glasses, but do not need them. I just like the way I look--smart. :)

Is there any way anyone could tell they are fake? I spent about $100 on the frames nonprescription lenses.

thanks for your help!

  1. what do they look like??

  2. There's not really any way to tell with out looking through them.

  3. Not unless they'll try to check. You see, someone seeing your face through prescription glasses will see the part which the glasses cover differently. In nearsighted people, that part will look smaller, and in farsighted people, that part will look much bigger. Other than that though, no one will be able to tell :)

  4. depends on the brand, look at the model number on them and search on google or yahoo, if it comes up with a bunch of things they should be real, if not they're probably fake. The model number should be on the inside of the arm of the glasses.

  5. I would say that unless you're an expert, you wouldn't be able to tell. Many people wear glasses with weak prescriptions and for the untrained eye, it's next to impossible to say if they are real or not. Then there are those of us who wear hi-index lenses. Because my lenses are about a third thinner than they would be otherwise, people can't tell that I wear a strong prescription.

  6. it would be a funny test.

Some people always ask, Oh, can I try them on!

As if it is a sweater or something.

Let them, and see what they say. The usual reaction is "I can see so much better!" Wait two minutes, then they start getting woozy. haha.

  7. I don;t see why or how someone will tell you that your glasses are fake. I mean there are people that wear glasses just because.

If you are asking on the name brand well that I don;t know...

But has far as regular glasses you should be ok,,, no one will be able to noticed they are fake..

  8. Yes. The lenses don't get thick on the edges. Ppl who are far-sighted have those lenses that make your eyes look huge, like coke bottles, and ppl who are near-sighted have lenses that are thick around the edges, thinner in the middle.

Why would you want glasses when so many ppl in the world just want to get rid of theirs? Donate your frames to the Lions Club or something and buy a nice pair of sunglasses.

  9. only if they put them on.

  10. I don't think they would unless they try them on themselves

  11. Most likely not.  The nonprescription lenses are meant to look as real as possible.  I bought a pair of fake glasses for like 8 dollars for the same reason as you and wore them to school and everyone was like, "i didn't know you wore glasses. i love them!" lol so you are fine :)

  12. If someone was to try on your eyeglasses they would know, but that probably won't happen so I doubt anyone would know they are not prescription unless you tell them.  I do not like wearing my glasses so it is hard for me to understand why you would want to wear them.

I only have a prescription lens in my left eye and my right eye has normal vision so the lens for my right eye is the same as your non prescription lenses.  The lens for my left is shaped a little differently then the lens for my right eye.  My left eye also appears slightly smaller (minus lens) than my right eye when I wear my glasses.  I usually wear a contact lens most of the time.
