  1. 2nd  to last letter indicates year.  Example SX150TLY1.  The “Y” means model year 2000

Looks like a 1983 model (6G6). Found at this link:

    http://www.marinshopen.se/index.htm

    Click Modellguide, then Yamaha.

It's probably available in English, too... somewhere. Meanwhile, thank the Swedes.

Dave M. might be right on the year, as the model guide at the Swedish site shows 1983 with a dash after it, which probably indicates that 1983 was the first year of production for that model and it was still in production when their guide was last updated. It would be good to know his source. I did find another model year guide, but it's interpretation is at odds with the marinshopen site. The "T" in 200AETO may mean it is a 1995, or that it has hydraulic tilt and trim depending on the site you reference and how you read the motor info. I have listed both sites so you can judge for yourself.

  2. 1995 model 6G6 L(ong Shaft)

  3. If you contact Yamaha and give them the details and they should get back to you or tell you on the spot what you need to know,  or you could do a search on there website ...

    hope this was helpful :)

  4. A dealership can tell by the serial #
