Toshiba TLP 510 projector & Optoma EP716 HD Home Theater DLP Projector

They are asking for about $350-$450.. Let me know if it is a rip off!

  1. Even though the Optoma EP716 has a 2000:1 contrast ratio which is excellent for viewing DVDs and games, the 2X speed color wheel is not fast enough to prevent seeing "rainbows," which are flashes of light in high contrast darkened scenes.  4X speed or faster color wheels will reduce the appearance of "rainbows" considerably.  On the other hand, if you are using the projector strictly for showing of static slides, i.e., PowerPoint, Word, then the issue of rainbows is not relevant.

  2. it all depends how you are planning on running your projector if you are like most people wanting the best picture and plan on running it in HD and/or digital satellite such as directv your better off going with the optoma projector. the price is reasonable as long as it hasn't been dropped, abused or mishandled in any manner.
