I do not like the soil test kits with the little tubes and capsules...On my garden the samples didn't even turn the color that the chart shows..was a total ripoff to me..I bought a electronic probe that does this..here is a picture similar to mine..I only paid 24.99 for mine I think was at lowes..or maybe walmart..it works great..

Soil test kits are esy to use, and are cheap to buy. They will test for nitrogen, phosphate, and potash. Charts supplied with the kit indicate the amount of each nutrient to be used for a particular type of crop.

Yes and many garden centres, eg Dobbies, will do it for you.

Just take in a sample in a jam jar and they do it on the spot.

pool ph kits work as well as soil testers ..same thing..you test the water that drains from the planter
