Or increase the tax on the rich and the fat energy companies and reduce tax for lower income people .

He missed a golden opportunity when he took over from Blair. He should have set a target for troops withdrawal from Iraq - just like Obama has promised the Americans.

Instead he has left this gem for his successor if there is one in the short term, for example Milliband , who might just pull this leadership thing off. Imagine if Milliband announces " If I am elected I will start to pull UK troops out within 90 days."

That will demonstrate change - real change and optimism for the future.
