  1. I manage a charity and I am also the fundraiser.  Here are some ideas:

Get people to donate  good quality items and find someone who has the skills to sell them on EBay, to raise funds.

A sponsored stroll/walk.  Involve teachers, parents and children.  Do sponsor forms and get people to find sponsors.

Tombola stall at local community events.  Another very good money spinner; especially if you get the prizes donated.

Write to local companies and ask them to donate to your local primary school.  They will be most interested in sponsoring the purchase of equipment/ minibus etc.

    Good luck

  2. Buy a nice teddy bear or any cuddly toy that looks cute and then do a "Guess the name of the teddy" Usually have about 30 possible names and the one that gets drawn out of the hat is the name. Charge one pound a go. We did this at my work and we raised over 30 pounds.

You could also do guess the weight of the cake?

Guess how many sweets are in the jar?

sponsored walk, swim or bike ride?

  3. My friend and I organised a charity basketball game a few years ago in school. We asked for donations and charged a small fee though many people put in more... we raised just over £500 in one day.

Other things would be bake sales, car boot and jumble sales.  If it's for a primary school it'd be a good idea to get the kids and parents involved, I remember doing fun runs and sponsored silences in primary, all those things worked pretty well.  Hope this helps.

  4. To be able to raise a lot of money for little and get the most people involved as possible, we did a bake sale. Most everyone brought at least one item and we sold them sitting in front of walmart and at a few churches. If you have sign's letting people know their donations are for a good cause, they will feel like they have an excuse to buy sweets, ours was extremely successful.

Another idea, an auction. I organized one at church. Several people went around town asking for donations (tanning packages, car washes, gift cards, or actual items) then sell items you got donated. It is 100% profit!!

    GOOD LUCK!!

  5. How about an auction were you get the parents to offer their work  skills or the company they work for a related prize to that company.

for example if Mr or Mrs X was a childminder they might put up for auction  after school or similar sessions

If someone was a cake maker people could bid for her to make a birthday/anniversary cake

We did this at our school -it was a lot of fun and raised a lot of money
