I know, this is random. But I am working at a bug camp and my day to lead is the day of the cricket. I got assigned the hardest bug, haha! Everyone else has had easy bugs like bees, butterflies, & ladybugs. I got stuck with crickets! I need activities like crafts, a snack, songs, ANYTHING!! Thanks!

  1. I answered this before but my computer ate it just before sending... I'll try again but in abbreviated form:

...the famous song by Jiminy Cricket (from Disney's Pinocchio) When You Wish Upon A Star... he sang other things too, perhaps in that movie or in the other Disney movies, TV shows, and videos he did

...make little dioramas for live crickets... in jars or boxes with windows covered with plastic wrap or transparency sheets to you can see in... use natural materials from outdoors, or make things from paper, clays, etc.

...talk about why crickets can jump so well... do some long-jump activities

...make crickets with clays, etc... add wire for legs perhaps

... there may also be a *simple* origami cricket shape

... make various foods in cricket shapes, from long bits of something with long-flexible foods to stick in for legs, etc.

  2. You could make a cricket house out of toothpicks or popsicle sticks. In parts of Asia and even Europe, a cricket singing in the house is considered good luck, and cages are made for them.

You may find some useful info at this teacher's website.

    Good luck.
