  1. plasterboard, YES, but if it is painted or some other covering on it ??. if a GOOD installation, you don't NEED fiber board, sometimes called backer board, durock etc.

  2. Yes you can. You should rough up the wall with coarse sand paper first. If it is directly wet, like a shower wall, then I would use the fiberboard or concrete board.

  3. Yes, you can tile directly onto plasterboard - many builders do this.

The tile and grout is supposed to be a waterproof barrier.

PVA the plasterboard first to stop the grout drying out too much

me: built houses with many wetrooms, no complaints over 20 years.

  4. yes its perfectly fine...if you have concerns about waterproofing you could tank it which is very simple.. wp1 painted on with tape sealing your corners which will provide even more protection..but you are fine going directly onto waterproof board with your adhesive.  acrylic bonding should not be necessary but is always a good addition on many surfaces.

  5. If you are referring to "Green-Board" or moisture resistant drywall; yes you can. Tape it with regular drywall tape, but use the same mastic you will be setting the tiles with, instead of drywall mud.

Next, use the flat side of the trowel to skim coat the green board. This seals it completely; work it under the board at the tub or shower, and make sure you cover any exposed cut edges, such as at the shower valve opening.

When it is anywhere between "slightly tacky" and dry, go ahead and use the notched side of the trowel to spread the mastic in a workable sized area (about 4' x 4'). You should be able to see your guidelines on the wallboard right through the skim-coat.
