Can you train a cat?

Can you give a cat obdience training? If so, how. Websites are much appreciated.

Yes and no. You more have to just discipline them. With my experience they don't respond to "oh good job here's a treat" like dogs do. What is it your kitty is doing? My cat likes to claw the brand new carpet on our stairs... sometimes I'll yell his name and he'll stop and run away... other times like when he does it to the couch I spray him with a bit a water.

Yes, it has certainly happened.   Not easy though, depends on cat and the trainer.

Yes, of course, cats can be trained.  My cat is very well-trained, but she didn't come to me that way.  I had to read books and work at it with her.  There are lots of books on the subject and if you want to buy any books about cats, go to a Borders store or to Borders.com.  If you want to read info on the internet, try the following web sites:

if you want to teach an animal obedience, get a dog. cats will learn something one day and forget it the next. they have their own minds.

its true i traind my cat a little bit but they cant do dogs trick they can roll over when there happy

Yes you can but it takes many hours and months.  Alot of treats are needed for the cat to do anything.

probably not but if you say kitty to my cat she will look at you than if you say come here she comes i don't know if she's trained or she just wanted to come haha.
