Can you train a cat to be cuddly?

We have two female spayed cats. They are both friendly to me, but they prefer my fiance. They will both sit on his lap and let him hold them, and will sleep with him when he takes a nap, which they never really do with me. Do they prefer him because he is a man? They rarely pee on things, but when they do, it's only on my clothes, or something with my scent on it, never his.

We have been talking about getting another kitten. I have heard that male cats are friendlier with their female owners than the female cats are.

And if we do get a kitten, is there any way I can train him so that he will be more cuddly with me and want to take naps with me, or is it purely a personality thing? What if we roll the dice and get yet another cat who ignores me?

I love my kitties, and I enjoy caring for them, but I feel that part of the deal is that I get a little love in return, right?

You can't exactly 'train' a cat to be more cuddly but spending more time with them, feeding them, patting them can help.

You might want to be careful getting another cat because sometimes they feel they are stealing their territory and it may get vicious. I suppose it'd be alright considering the two females hardly pay attention to you and won't feel left out on anything.

Peeing only on your items? They could even be jealous of you! They see you getting attention from their master and probably have gotten envious of it, so they ignore you and continue to cuddle with your fiance.

I get what you mean, sometimes you want a little love in retrun and it;s totally understandable.

Male cats usually tend to be more smoochy with females so maybe getting a male kitten is the best solution here, and make sure you're the one doing the main caring for this one while its young, or it will see your fiance as the mother figure and three cats will be ignoring you.

The main thing that needs to be answered is who feeds the cats?

If its him, that would be 1 reason why they favor him.

Getting a kitten of the opposite s*x is not going to assure the affection your looking for, it depends on the kitten/cat & how much time you spend with it, how much you play with it & if your the one who feeds it.

I would try to give some special treats to the 2 cats you already own &  buy special toys to play with them yourself.

As for the peeing, either you've been leaving your clothes on the floor &/or the cat boxes need to be cleaned more often and they're letting you know. Good Luck
