Can you train yourself to be an amateur boxer?

On my own, I cant afford a trainer or boxing school, whats the best advice you can give and is it possible

  1. Check with your state's boxing commission. Usually in either the local church group, Police Athletic League, YMCA, etc. there is a boxing program usually with competent volunteer trainers. That's a good way to start, without the need to expend too much money. Good luck.


  2. It'd be better to get a trainer. If you can't I'd suggest to look at some training videos online and soak up as much as you can. Save up some money and then go to a trainer.

  3. h***s yeah you can! youll be a crappy one but you can. you think all those boxing brawlers (ricardo mayorga) had good amateur bouts? h***s nah! i advice you steal money or talk to a trainer about your issue

    go to a gym that doesnt cost too much..

    trust me, it is almost impossible training yourself..

    and if not properly trained, you could get hurt BADLY in the ring..

    go to boxinggyms.com and look up a gym in your area

  5. Absolutely not.  Look up a local gym and get an old salty coach.
