Tivo Series 1 have no transfer system built in. However, a group of dedicated Tivo enthusiasts have designed software and hardware that allow for video transfer one-way to the PC. (Tivo Underground)

Tivo Series 2 (1st Gen) - Require an OS update, an ethernet connection to the PC and purchased software for your PC to make video dvds.

Tivo Series 2 (2nd Gen) - Require an ethernet connection to the PC and purchase of software for limited video transfers.

Tivo Series 3 and Tivo HD - Very limited transfer ability. If the TV network marks a video as protected then no transfer is allowed. These include movie channel networks and some local station broadcasts.

Replay TV - Unknown. This brand is more of the Betamax of the DVR world. It is not a very widely distributed brand from what I have seen.
