I have language tapes from a while back when I was taking a language course, and they are on tapes. I don't have a tape player anymore! Is there a way to get them on cds somehow?

  1. Yes you can do this easily without any additional software.  Plug the earphone output of the tape recorder to the "audio line in jack" of the computer, with a mini to mini cord which you can get at Radio Shack.  Record the tapes using "Sound Recorder" which is a program included in Windows, which you already have.

After you have the recording saved on the hard drive, you can just burn a CD.  I do this often, it works very well.  Email me if you need additional assistance.  It takes a little work to get familiar with the Sound Recorder program in Windows.

  2. The only way I know of doing transferring the audio content from a tape onto a CD would require you to have a tape player.  There might be a more advanced way of doing this that some pro audio person out there might know of, but as a regular folk, this is the only way I can think of right now:

Connect your tape player via the audio out jack to the audio input on your computer.  Record the audio on the tape player into an mp3, WAV, etc.  You can then burn those files onto a CD.

Sorry, that's the only way I can think of.

  3. i recorded music off of a cassette into pc then burn it to a cd. the way i do it is i use a program called audacity. i connect a  line from headphone jack to the mic jack. the line i got from radio shack less than $10.  tell them what your trying to connect they will have it. the program is free thats how i did it this morning good luck
