Hello, I was wondering can I transfer my BTEC first diploma IT and all my other GCSEs qualification from England to America. My original plan was to do the BTEC national diploma IT in college in London, England seen as this my last year in secondary school but due to family issues I might have to go to America when I finish all my gcses and my btec ict. So do they do btec national diploma ict in america college (miami florida)? can I transfer my qualifications from England to America?

  1. dear frd,plz enter the web site of ur chosen college..infact thats the best idea..i think u can transfer ur credit there..bt ofcourse it all depends on ur present qualification's value n future institution standard...best of luck..

  2. Degrees themselves don't "transfer."  You would have to explain to potential employers how your British degree compares to American degrees, most likely.

You can transfer credit.  What a given institution will accept varies.  You can find information on the process for transferring credit from the institution you're interested in.  Generally, the school will tell you to submit your transcripts to a particular company who specializes in figuring out how courses in one country's school compare to courses at the US school you're wanting to attend.

Many of my students do precisely this, which is why I know about it.

One thing to keep in mind is that what you study to get a degree in a particular field in the US from one school might differ significantly at another school, depending on their accrediting agencies.

    Good luck!
