I have a graphite shaft in a taylormade 3 wood that I want to transfer to a mizuno steel 3 wood, is it possible to take a shaft out of a club and install it on another?

  1. I believe that the Taylormade 3 wd shaft will have a different tip diameter than the Mizuno.  Thus it will not fit.  Best to measure before you proceed.

  2. Sure you can.  I have done it myself and ruin about every other one I tried.  Go to a shop..they have the right gear  to do it successfully.  Depending on the shaft, it might be reasonable to just buy a new shaft.  Shop around.

  3. Yes you can. I would recommend take them to a shop to have it done. Your shaft may play a little on the stiff side after the move but might not even be noticeable .

  4. It can be done - but if you are asking the question then you are not qualified to do it yourself.  Take it to a pro shop and let them do it.  What you pay will be less than buying a new shaft.  Also while there ask them if the shaft will work well with the clubhead you want to attach it to.
