Yes you can...to some.  And, Puerto Rico is not another country...it is a territory of the United States and therefore part of the u.s.  You may travel to Mexico and Canada with just your green card  if you travel by land.  If you are flying or traveling to other countries your green card will get you back into the U.S., but you will also need a passport from your home country to be allowed on the plane and to enter the foreign country.  See site below and read section on international travel.  As a permanent resident in the U.S. you are responsible to maintain a current passport from your home country at all times.  if you do not have one, you may apply for one at the nearest embassy or consulate of your home country. If you entered the U.S. as a refugee and therefore cannot obtain a passport from your home country, you must apply for a special U.S. travel document.  See 2nd site.


  2. Yes, you can go to Puerto Rico. You don't need a passport. All you have to be is a U.S. resident. You should look that up. Well hope that helped.
