  1. Why not get someone in to do it. May cost a bit but it will save loads of your time.

  2. Yeah, up until you run across stems too thick to cut.  You'll need loppers or a small pruning saw for those.

  3. No..... What Helen and pirate said

  4. Yes - you can also empty a lake with a spoon. Just a case of how long you have and how determined you are.

  5. Can't you borrow an electric hedge cutter off one of your friends or neighbours

  6. Of course you can

it will take ******* ages though

  7. Sure...but it's going to take you foreeeeevvvvveeeeerrrr.

  8. Good pair of gloves, Secateurs with good blade cost around 20 to 30 quid, and depending on thickness of upright bits get a Brashing saw,  at a decent gardening shop and go for it, I have a thorn hedge and I use secateurs and extending H.D. loppers, If you got the time it's a good way to switch off for a day or three!

  9. Well yes, but if some of the stems have gotten too thick this may prove difficult. And as others have said it will be a very long job. The good news is you may get away with one cut this year as we are almost into August, depending on the type of hedge.  It sounds like you need a friend or gardener to help you.
