Can you try out for the same agency twice?

just wondering.

say if i went to an open call for an agency [i know it's not a scam it is on the SAG.com website] and they said no, then a few months later i wanted to audition again but this time i sent IN my resume & pic. could i do that or is it a one time thing for one agency?

  1. You can re-submit your headshot and resume to them; however, if they saw you once and said no, it's doubtful that they would change their minds in a short time.  

    You should spend some time getting more experience and training to put on your resume to make yourself more attractive to them.  But I would wait at least a year.


  2. First, you have two things mixed up; For an open call or what is affectionately known as a cattle call you have to bring a resume and a head shot. These "Open" casting calls are usually the worst way to try and get seen/audition. Sort of like the open female model calls of by days gone by (Do they still do these cattle calls for female models?).... anyway. You can go to these as many times as you want until you're blue in the face!

    However, when there is no audition for an agent, that has been announced, it's dur-rigor you send in your resume and head shot! You should be doing this anyway, with or without a casting notice, to all reputable agents in your area. And I don't include "Licensed" agents in this discussion either.
