  1. " = inches

    ' = feet

    3" * 100' = 3" * 1200" = 3600" = 300'

    Although you'd get the same result without converting 100' to inches.

  2. What he said was incorrect.  The answer is 25 square feet.  3" is 1/4 foot.  1/4' X 100' = 25 square feet.  if you convert to inches, it is more complicated.  3" X 1200" = 3600" squared, which is like a room that is 60" by 60" or 5' by 5' which gives you 25 square feet.

  3. " is for inches and ' is for feet.

    To multiply 3" and 100', u should change the feet to inches cuz it's easier than changing 3" to feet. To change 100' to inches, multiply it by 12 and u'll get 1200". Then, multiply 1200" by 3" and u'll get 3600 inches. And if u wanna change it back to feet, divide it by 12, and the answer would be 300 feet. Hope it helps!

  4. 3" X 100' doesn't mean multiply, it means find the area
