  1. I'm positive it is illegal in Minnesota.

  2. in mass if your on a one way and turning left onto a one way you can

  3. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. No. You also cannot turn if you have a red left arrow and the straight traffic is green.

  5. Not sure in MN, but you Can in Ohio IF you are on a one-way street turning onto another one-way street.  Honest.

  6. If both streets are one-way streets it might be legal in some jurisdictions.  Of course, you can do it anyway if you are willing to risk getting caught.

  7. only from a one way street to another one way street can't turn left with opposing traffic coming towards you..

  8. Nope......

  9. In some states it's OK to turn left from one 'one way' street to another. Best bet would be to call the Department of motor vehicles and ask to be sure.

  10. Not legal in Ohio, West Virginia or Kentucky. I doubt it is in any state.

  11. In Michigan, you can turn left on red if you're going to a one way street (even if you're on a two-way street). Not sure about MN, though (really helpful, I know :)) I would as a cop or call your dept of transportation.

  12. I live in Canada...........and here, in most Provinces, you may turn RIGHT on a red light unless there is a prohibitive sign, as long as you stop first and only proceed when safe to do so. There may be a Provincial law prohibiting RIGHT turns on red lights in a few Provinces. I know it is illegal in the Province of Quebec for example.

I don't know of any place which allows LEFT turns on a RED light. You may make a left turn IF you have a LEFT TURN ARROW (green arrow) and the straight through traffic has a RED light. You may also make a left turn after stopping, at a FLASHING RED LIGHT, but only when safe to do so. These "flashing" red lights are usually found at rural and less busy intersections, and are usually accompanied by a Stop Sign.

I would suggest that you check with your local DMV and your Driver's Handbook and/or with a Police Officer in your area.

You will find that "ignorance" or "lacking knowledge of the law" will not stand up as an excuse when dealing with legal authorities.

Think and Drive!!!  Know the rules!

The only other time I think you would be able to make a LEFT turn on a RED light would be if there was a person directing traffic, during construction, collision, etc.
