Can you turn off fast forward correction on a directv receiver?

when you fast forward and press play, it starts playing a few seconds earlier than where you wanted

It is all part of  how digital broadcasts are made.

In digital video, not all frames are the same; there are I, B, and P frames. B and P depend on I and there are far more B's and P's than I's. So, when you FF, you can only start  playback only after the closest I is decoded. It is definitely not seconds though.
