Can you unplug a server from a network of computers and then plug it back in without any problems?

The extra battery we have is blinking low, and to replace the battery, we need to unplug the server. Now I need to know if this can be done without any hassle. Thanks!

  1. It depends on what you mean by Server.

If you are talking about the domain server you just shut it down as normal and do what is needed. While it is off no one will be able to log in to the domain and there will be errors from shares on it and such

If its a server that is just on the network you may want to shut down any PCs that access it before switching if off

The easiest thing to do would be log any pcs out then switch it off
